Fair Trade

More than 25,000 people, the majority of whom are women are directly employed in the Chyangra Pashmina industry in Nepal. Local and international organisations are committed to the maintenance of high standards of animal husbandry, the maintenance of local craft skills and training in new technical competences. All of which is designed to improve the overall quality of life for the people within the developing region. Pashmina Shawl Scarf is very proud to support this by providing you with this fair trade brand.

Traditional and sustainable methods of production are ensured, from the point of sourcing to the natural shedding and extraction of the materials that go into making our pashmina shawl wrap scarves. Chyangra Pashmina Cashmere Wool fibres are collected every Spring after the natural shedding of the Chyangra goat. In no way are the goats harmed during this process, with a new layer of wool growing in time for the Himalayan winter. The process from start to finish is natural, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
